Wilde Award Nomination

Emily is thrilled to have been nominated for a Wilde Award for her portrayal of Jerusha Abbott in Daddy Long Legs.  In addition to her best actress nomination, Daddy Long Legs (The Dio) and Sweeney Todd (The Encore Musical Theatre Company) were both nominated for Best Musical and Schoolhouse Rock Live! (Hope Summer Repertory Theatre) was nominated for Best Theatre for Young Audiences.

West Side Story

May 22, 2018

Rehearsals are now beginning for West Side Story at The Encore Musical Theatre Company.  The production is directed by Encore artistic director and Broadway veteran Dan Cooney (Bonnie & Clyde, 9 to 5, Mamma Mia, Les Miserables).  Emily is overjoyed to be kicking her face as Velma and singing one of her favorite songs as Somewhere Soloist. Show runs June 20th-August 12th.

Life is a big, gay cabaret

Emily will be performing her own solo cabaret at The Flagstar Strand in Pontiac, MI.  April 9th and April 11th at 7 pm, tickets can be purchased at the door.  

The Secret of Happiness

Emily will be starring in the Michigan premiere of Daddy Long Legs as Jerusha Abbott.  Show runs April 5th - May 20th.  Purchase tickets here!

The Big, Bad Apple...

Next week, Emily and her class will travel to NYC to perform their senior showcase.  They will perform at The Samuel Beckett Theatre, March 5th, 3:30 and 6:30 in conjunction with Western Michigan University.

Rehearsals are underway for Emily's next project: Anything Goes at The Encore Musical Theatre Company!  Emily is playing the role of Hope Harcourt.  Show runs through the holiday season, and tickets can be purchased here.

Emily will be appearing as Johanna in Sweeney Todd at The Encore Musical Theatre Company in Dexter, Michigan.  The show opens September 29th and runs through October 22nd.  Get your tickets now!

Rock the Schoolhouse all night long!

Schoolhouse Rock Live!, Emily's first production at Hope Summer Repertory Theatre, opened last week and received a glowing review. "With a sharper edge, but still a winning personality, Hadick’s Dina had her special charm...Hadick had a strong voice that sparkled with energy." (Bridgette Redman, Encore Michigan). One Singular Sensation

After a completely sold-out run, Emily is overjoyed to have received the Irene Ryan nomination for her portrayal of Cassie in A Chorus Line.  She will compete in the Irene Ryan Scholarship Competition at The American College Theatre Festival in 2018.  

The Magic Flute

Emily made her Oakland University Opera debut in The Magic Flute!  This production was unique in that they staged the full opera in the original German language, and also staged a shortened English version for invited children's audiences.  Emily played 2nd lady in the English version and was 2nd Lady's understudy in the German version. 

Bare: A Pop Opera

Emily just finished up a sold-out run as Nadia in Bare: A Pop Opera at Oakland University.  The production was directed by Broadway veteran Don Brewer (Les Miserables, The Pirate Queen).   Check out Emily's videos page to see her sing "A Quiet Night At Home"!

A Week At The Open Jar Institute

Emily finished up an incredibly exciting week at the Open Jar Institute in New York City.  While there, she had the pleasure of learning from Jeff Whiting, James Gray, Bob Cline, Thayne Jasperson, Stacia Fernandez, and Joseph Mitchell-Parks.  Classes included audition techniques, viewpoints, improvisation, OBC dance classes as well as contemporary dance classes.  The week culminated with a performance at Pearl Theatre in the heart of the city.

Winner of 2016 Musical Theatre Intensive

Emily recently won the Region III Musical Theatre Intensive competition at the American College Theatre Festival presented by The Open Jar Institute.  In addition to a scholarship, Emily has also won an opportunity to attend the National American College Theatre Festival in Washington D.C. at the Kennedy Center.  Read this Oakland Post feature to find out more!
